Masks

I think that using a mask is not a good thing because its pretty much hiding who you really are. You dont have to use different masks with different people beacause it makes you feel like if your hiding something which you pretty much are. You are because you probably dont want that person to see who you are with different people. I understand if you do it for something really importen, but there isnt a need to do it with people you meet. It makes you feel like your doing something bad kind of like holding a lie.

Lord of the Flies 9-11

I think that the Islanders would have never become killers if they never landed on the island. I believe this because if their plane was never shot down by the war then they would have all gone their seperate ways and would have never killed eachother. Jack was sort of insane in the beginning by taking charge that ultimately was not needed. Simon would have not been beat to death. Piggy wouldn't have been crushed by a rock from the lever that Roger pulled. They would have stayed innocent children. I think that by giving children ages ranging from 6-12 was a not so smart move to make. Your gonna mess up a chld by handing him a spear and go crazy with it. Their going to think that it's ok to kill and when they grow up if they get off the Island their going to be serial killers when they grow up. They should have given the strongest and oldest kids the position of the hunters. Then maybe they wouldnt be as crazy as they already are. I think if they get rescued if there's any children left on the island, then they are going to need some oxicotton to cool their nerves. They're also going to have to go through some serious rehabilitation programs so they will be able to control themselves if they ever get a little messed up in the head. They will never be the same. They will be physically, but never mentally. If only they never crashed on the Island.

Killers (Lord of the Flies)

The boys from Lord of the Flies were thrown into a terrible situation. They were placed into something they should never have been placed in. If the boys had never been on the island, I do not believe that they would have become killers. They were thrown into a situation that caused them to become killers. They lost their sense of control. I do not however think that the hunting caused them to become killers. Many people in world hunt, most of them are not cold blooded killers. The hunting is a survival technique. It is for food purposes, not just to kill. I think they will have a very hard time adjusting back to the real world. Jack's and Roger's future does not look so bright either, as they probably will be in that kill mode for the rest of their lives. It's a really awful situation to be honest. They will have a hard time if they go back to the real world.

lord of the flies!

If the boys never landed on the island I don't think they would have become killers because they would have just been at home, going to school doing normal stuff and they would not have to be killers to survive.

I think that they were not thrown into the role of hunters. They just felt like they had to hunt to be able to survive. Them thinking they had to be hunters has torn them apart and has killed many of their own.
In their future I think they will either still be on the island or dead. I say this because they are not a group anymore. They have gone their separate ways. If they hadn't gone their separate ways they may have survived and been found.

If they are rescued, which I believe they will not be, but if they are rescued I think that there would be hope for them. I think this because if they are rescued then they will go back to their homes and if they keep being killers then they will punished and I think that if they thought about how they would be punished then they will stop being killers and live a normal life.

Killers

The boys would have not become killers if they have not become killers because they were much civilized . They became savages and WILD when they killed the Pig and when they killed SIMON. When they started to hunt they kind of became obsessed with the blood. They would even act out how they killed it.
IF they are rescued they will STILL be murderers because they killed Simon and Piggy maybe it was an accident but once they are dead they are gone and THEY KILLED HIM!!! IF they get rescued they might have that addiction of killing and might murder something and will get in trouble for it.
When they were given the role of hunters obviously they had to kill and knowing that they are going to KILL t might have become an addiction.

Lord of the Flies

I think that the beast inside of each boy came out, after crashing on the island. I dont think that they were necessarily born that way. But because of the circummstances they did what they had to do. If I were them, I dont honestly see myself being able to kill somone. Over anything! I might argue or fight with someone for food, if it was really necessary but other than that, I woud try to have peace with everybody. I don't think that they will ever be able to be the same, little boys that play in the yard, or go outside, or hang out with friends. In my opinion they will be violent and rough. Because now they have been exposed to killings, hunting, and surviving on their own. So its normal and reality to them. If they get rescued and try to go back to normal lives, things will be different. And if they go back to their old ways that they got while they were on the island.... then more than likely they will end up in jail or living on the streets. But, on the otherhand they could possibly be more independent.
The boys were in some kind of military school before they landed on the island so they were being taught about respect and discipline. When they grew up some of them were probably going to join the military some some of them would have being killers if they would never have landed on the island. I think that Jack would have probably killed some one even if they hadn't landed on the island just because of his attitude that he wants to be in control of everything and wants to have fun and not do the important things. Some of them though would never become killers because they are too scared or obey the rules too much.
I think that being thrown into the rule of hunters might have contributed to them becoming killers because they spend their days killing animals and connecting with their wild side. They also didn't like each other like Jack and Piggy or Jack and Ralph so eventually after all the time they had to spend together somebody would end up dieing. Even after the boys are rescued though they will need some therapy or something because they went through a traumatizing experience they killed their own friends and peers. They spent way too much time killing things and even Jack isn't called Jack any more they call him Chief. They have refused to act civilized so entering them into a society that has laws will be hard. If they get rescued they will have to get accustomed to how things work in the real world where they can't run around naked with spears and face paint.
In the future I think that they will all end up going crazy and completely insane they will end up killing each other and never get rescued. Ralph will go insane and try to kill Jack to try to reestablish dominance and become Chief again so that they can start the fire and get rescued. Jack will also try to kill Ralph and get ride of him forever

lord of the flies

I think that the boys would not have become killers if they did not land on the island. I think that they would be the same way that they were before they were on the island. I think they were forced into being killers because of the way they hunted. I also think that they were not born into hunters much less killers. the only reason that they became killers was because of their hunting position. Most kids were just trying to survive for themselves. The only reason that they killed the other kids was that they. If they would not have been forced into surviving for them selfs then they would not have killed all the innocent kids that they have killed. I think that there is hope for some of the people if they get rescued but not all of them. For example I think that Jack will remain the same power freak for the rest of his life. Jack will not change at all because he is already used to haveing everybody do everything for him. If they get rescued some of them might change but some of them will not.

Young Killa's

I beleive to assume that these kids were born to be killers or would have killed people even if they never would have landed on this island is just unfair. Thses kids are good kids that probably had a bright future. Nobody in this world is born a killer i think the events and choices that take place in your life make you a killer. No one is born to kill people. The main reason thse unfortunate kids became killers is because they were put in hunters role on the island. And when you kill something not only does it give you a adrenaline rush, you can also become addicted to that great feeling and want to do it all the time. And i think thats what happend to these kids. They killed a few things and become addicted to killing. Its unfortunate that that to happen to these kids. Since they are now addicted if they get rescued they will always have killing in the back of their mind.

To kill or not to kill (lord of the flies)

I do think that them hunting caused them to kill. They had to kill to survive so they started to see it as an alright thing to do. They are too young to understand that killing is wrong.
Landing on that island isn't the only thing that made them killers though. If they had continued life and hadn't crashed then some of them still could have grown up to be murderers. They could have grown up life in a bad place or with a abusive family and would end up killing some one.
If they get rescued then they could help and end up being great people. Although the image of killing people would probably be stuck in their mind forever. They could end up having an uncontrollable desire to kill. They might be scared for life because of that experience.

Killers ?

If they wouldn't have landed on the island , I don't think the boys would have become killers . I think that the only reason they started killing is because they think that's the only way to survive . When really it isn't . They think it'll help them survive longer if they kill off their enemies instead of calling a truce . They're really just making it harder to survive .

I think that being thrown into hunting like the group of guys were caused this . They went so long without killing anything it made them crazy . They became insane .So when they finally started killing something it's not just the animals . They begin killing other people that were innocent . The "hunters" have their minds focused on hunting and hunting alone and they don't pay attention to who their killing .

If they get rescued then they'll probably have to get mental or psychiatric help . If they don't then they'll probably come back with the mind of killing and begin killing more innocent people . That's only if they make it off the island without killing anymore people .

Chapter 9-11

The boys would have never become killers if they would have never landed on the island because being there having to actually hunt for food and the feeling of power changed them. Now that they were hunters they saw the blood and found it fun to hunt. In the book they liked the feeling of power and hiding behind a mask. If they get back to society they will always have the feeling of a once held power and the mark of a killer wont leave them. They might not kill anyone else but deep down inside them they are still killers. There experince on the island will carry on with them for the rest of their lives. When they live back in their soceity they will slowly adapt to their old lifestlye. Seeing themselves in there old clothes and combed hair they will see how foolish they looked painted like savages. Having grown up around them will change alot. In a society they did not need to hunt because they could buy the meat. Their old innocence of kids did allow them to have to courage to kill a pig. They will probably be tempted at first to make their own rules. The mask played a big part in them becoming killers because they felt hidden behind it and they could do what they want. They were also proabaly using hunting as a method to get rid of there frustration of being away from home. Jack was a big reason they became killers becasue he was giving them bad advise. They will probably forget about most of it.

Lord of The Files

I don't think that they would have become killers because they most likey wouldn't have been in that type of situation. I think that if they wouldn't have landed on that isalnd that they would still have their innonce. Since they were on that island they had to face chanllanges that they wouldn't have to face till later on or never had to. They wouldn't of had to fight to be alive and fight in order to get food. They also wouldn't have needed to grow as fast if they wouldn't have crashed there and they would still be doing things kids would do at that age. I think it may have a reason why they became killers but not all of the reason. Because they knew they had to kill animals for food but they didn't have to kill eachother. I think they started killing eachother because they wanted to show that they are in charge and they are the better hunter. They also may think that they have to prove that they are the better hunter than everyone else on the island. I think that there may be hope for them that they wouldn't do it again. But that thought would stay in their head that they had killed someone when they were younger. Also if they get rescued and they never get caught about doing the killing then they may think that if they didn't get caught the first time then they may want to keep doing it. But if they felt really bad about killing someone then they most likey won't do it again because they don't want to go though that again. But I think that there is hope that they won't be forever killers.

Killers?

I think that if the boys would have never landed on the island, then they wouldn't be killers. The reason being is because they wouldn't have anything to kill. They are killing on the island, because they've gone mad!
Yes, I do think that having them being the hunters caused them to be to become killers because, well if they are killing things they might be focused on that one thing. Then it becomes "second nature" to them. Then it becomes a habit, that they cannot control. I believe that in their futures there will be a lot of death and such, that is if they don't get off the island. Also, they may feel sadness and loneliness if they continue to kill.
"IF" they are rescued then they will still be hope for them, because when they are rescued they won't have to survive on their own. As I said before, they wouldn't have anything to kill for.

Killers?

If the boys never crashed and landed on this island I don't think they would ever be killers. I think being on the island alone for so long made them go crazy and resort to this. Since they've had to survive for so long with absolutely nothing they don't know what to do. I think them hunting caused them to become killers and without it they wouldn't have done it. When they killed their first pig it took them a while to do it. They didn't want to kill, so if they weren't on the island they wouldn't have ever killed. I think they could still be something in the future if they are rescued. They could still live life like an everyday person would and have a job. They will be scarred for life though. They still know themselves they they killed two innocent boys. So they may still be able to do every day things, just not as well as some other people because of the murders in the back of their heads. I think there is hope for them that they won't still go on killing when they get older. I don't think any of the boys will kill again once they are off of the island. Although, they are all still "killers" because they have done it once. They all know that when they were on the island they murdered someone. It will hang over their heads everyday of their life. So mentally they are all still killers, though physically I don't think they will.

Lord of the Flies:)

I think that the boys would not have become killers if they were never on the island. to me, they only become killers because they were on the island. when you are surrounded by the same people 24 hours, 7 days a week, don't you think that it would be annoying? well, yeah but they wouldn't have killed anyone if they weren't on the island. I do think that being in the roles of hunters, killed things for food and survival, caused them to be killers for there own kind. the only thing that they were thinking is how to keep them safe and alive. they would do anything to stay alive, even if it was killing there best friends. they should have made a plan that everyone agreed on, not just one leader or dictator. When or if they are rescued, i think that it will come to them that they're a killer, whoever survives. and no, i don't think that they will kill anymore once they're off that island. but i think that they will be scard for life about who they all killed. and will feel bad about how they suvived, and the others didnt. that's just my opinion.

Chapter 9 and 11

In the end of chapter 9 Simon was killed and beaten to death because he was wondering through the night and Jack and his followers saq him and they were too caught up in what was happening because they were doing a ritual to call the rain to them. I don't think that if they didn't end up on the island together than those murders wouldn't have happend. If they were in civilization than they might not have had contact with each other and they would have lived their normal lives and not had the influence that they had. Being a hunter can overwhelm you and all of the sudden you can have the sudden urge to kill something and then that could lead to them murdering someone. Being a hunter can have its advantages and disadvantages but when you're killing more than just animals for food than you know there is something wrong with you mentally. The Savages are thinking they are doing it for survival but you can't survive without the smartest people and Piggy and Simon were the wisest and knew what was supposed to be done on the island. I think that their future for the older ones could possibly lead to jail and serious counsling. For the littleuns they might not remember but seeing two people murdered right infront of your eyes than that can dramatize you for a long time and hopefully that won't lead to issues with their future. Maybe Jack and Roger will continue to kill but the others might not. They know what they did and at the time they really didn't care about what happend to Piggy and Simon. If they actually were in their right set of minds then they could notice that killing someone for power and satisfaction isn't the right way of getting rid of someone. They are forever killers because you can't get away from the fact that you killed 2 people for no reason because they weren't following your orders and they were not in your group.

Lord Of the Flies

I think that if they had never got stuck on the island they have been nothing close to killers because they are kids that went to school and they were never close to spears and stuff like that alsothat kill. Since they didnt know how to do anything about life because they were younger then 12 and their mother most likly did everything for them so they didnt know how to control things. So while they argued they just got into fights and pretty tried to kill each other.
So I do think that the role of hunters did cause them to become killers because the need of food in order to survive cause them to do anything. The thing was that once they killed that first pig they started to like to much. So once they liked it they werent just doing it for the meat no more they were doing for fun because they thought it was very exciting. So killing got stuck in there minds and they didnt care for the animal. SO not caring for the animal made them think it was ok to kill others. As you can see when both SImon And Piggy died they acted like if nothing had happen they didnt even cry or anything. That was because of the hunting, they acted exactly like if they had just killed a wild boar. They started to do it as a game as you can in the book they started to play between them using each other.
If they do get rescued i think there is no hope for them they will be forever because they will go back home and it will be stuck in their minds. They will start to do it like if its a game because they like and they cant stop. Also if they have problems there going to settle them by killing.

Lord of the Flies

If the boys on the island had never landed on the island, I don't think they would have ever become killers. They wouldn't have to kill to survive like they are doing now. They have to kill to eat, but they take it too far by killing Simon and Piggy. They get caught up in the roles of being hunters. The boys wouldn't have been like this is they weren't put in this situation. If they remain on the island their futures won't be to good. They will continue to fight and hurt eachother. The boys will continue to hunt and be savages. This has become their way of life, they won't change. They don't want to change. They like to hunt and kill. If the boys are rescued they might change. They aren't going to be killers forever. On the island this is the way they choose to live. They have to kill to eat. Although killing Simon and Piggy wasn't at all nessecary. They can change, it might be harder for Jack than it is for someone else, but they are all capable of changing.

Killers?

I think that the boys would have not become killers if they would have not landed on the island. They reason I think this is because they became killers due to the fact that they live on the island all by themselves and with no adult supervision. Even though they tried to act like grown-ups and do things right, things went the wrong way. I believe that by trying to be hunters, it eventually got to their head. They became savages and had to kill. Resulting to the death of Simon and Piggy. If the boys are to be found, I think that they will stop killing. After they get a look of the lifes they had before landing on the island, everything will be pretty much normal. I mean, they will still live with the idea that they killed Simon and Piggy, but that can't be changed. For some it will probably be more dificult because of how much they have changed throughout the book. For the others, things haven't really changed and things will be easier for them to get back to normal. All I think, is that none of them will be killers forever.

Lord of the Flies

I don't think the boys would have been killers if they had never landed on the Island. I think this because since they were on the Island the boys had to act more mature and had to fulfill more grown up roles to survive on the Island. I think that since some of the boys had to be put into roles of hunters that when they killed something or someone and didn't get in trouble they thought it was okay to do. The younger ones that hunted it is what they had been tought and they hadn't got in trouble so they had learned that hunting and killing was okay and that's why they kept doing it. They were all brought up or tought to be killers.

I think the funture of the boys will be hard because they have killed and hunted for so long that it is natural to them and they dont see anything wrong with it so there for it will be hard to break them from it. If the boys ever do change they want be the same and they problly will go back to killing and hunting if they don't find enjoyment in whatever there new job is. I dought that any of the boys except Ralph will ever stop killing or go back to there old selves before they had crashed onto the Island.

If they're rescued off the Island I don't think there is hope for the boys because they have been hunting and killing for awhile and it's the only thing they have been doing and they been getting away with it so therefore they want change. The only person I think that has hope of changing back into his old ways is Ralph because he hasn't really changed that much on the Island so he want have such a hard time changing. The other boys if they change or even want to change at all will take them a long time beacuse they learned that it is okay to do what they have been doing. Some of the boys pproblly want change unless Jack says to change because they only want to listen to him and only follow him because they think he is the Cheif and unless he says something they normally want do it even when Ralph tried to say something to them they didn't want to listen to him at all they said we only listen to Cheif.

Inherent Goodness

By using a mask, people hide who and what they really are. Most are something that behide they really are not. I think that mask does affect the idea of inherent goodness because not everyone that acts good really is good.

Mask----erade

Hiding behind a mask can allow a person to be who they wouldn't typically be. For Example, "Jack" was a perfect student and a perfect person around his parents, teachers, and adult piers. When "Jack is around his friend he changes. He does drugs, drinks alcohol, swears, and just is a hateful person. So he puts on a mask when he's in front of an adult and when he's with his friend. Masks do affect the idea of inherent goodness. For example, "Sarah's family are Jehovah Witnesses and they are typically a lot better behaved than regular kids are. So she's really inherently good. But when she goes around her friends are is in a private area she puts on a "mask" and acts completely oppisite then she would naturally act around her family and fellow witnesses.

peoples masks

In life there are two types of masks. There is a mask that people wear at halloween and then theres the type of mask that people wear everyday. People wear mask's to cover up there true selves to fit in with a certain group of people. People have many different types of masks. They wear them when they are with certain people. Another reason masks are wore everyday is because people are embarreced of their true selves and just want to be accepted. Masks do not affect a persons goodness. People change from good to bad throughout their lives many times.

Masks

Masks are used to hide behind. They cover the true view of a person. They can turn into something other than what they truely are. This can also keep them from coming to terms with reality. Which can be very bad in dealing with problems.

MASKS!!!

When people are hiding behind masks they are basically being someone else. Sometimes people do this because they want to be different or they can disguise them selves to trap people or just for fun. i wear in school the serious mask and partially i wear the crazy mask i have to have some fun during the day when i get home i wear the FAMILY mask where it means different sensations because in the house EVERYTHING goes on.
These masks are used because i need them for the occasion that I am in in the moment.the masks are used because they fit the MOMENT that i am in or just because i feel like wearing them. They always help me because i choose them wisely and i make sure that they are the appropriate masks if u choose the wrong mask it can lead to something that you don't want

Mask

I think the main reason why most people use a mask is because they're afraid of who they really are and what they want to be. A lot of people just want to be someone else and that's just an example of how people use a mask today. If you hide behinde a mask then you think that everything is okay and that you don't know who you want to be or if you can be your real self infront of someone. I think it doesn't becuase many people can be good and nice to your "mask" but in the long run we all have masks and don't know who to be in this world. People expect you to be something you're not and we try to please a lot of them by being fake.

Mask

I think one reason why people wear mask is because they are afraid of what people might think of them or what they want to do so they just wear a mask to cover it up. I also think people may act differently when they have a mask on because you may act one way around your friends but around your family you may act complety different. While you are hiding behind a mask you feel like you can get away with anything.

Do The Use Of Masks Affect The Idea of Inherent Goodness ?

I don't believe that the use of masks will affect the idea of inherent goodness . Masks don't change a person . If a person wants to change it's not going to be because of some mask . It won't be a physical change either . They'll probably change their attitude .

Though some people , mostly little kids , think they're somebody else because to them they feel different because of the mask . They sometimes will even act bad and then blame it on the mask .

False Identity (mask)

Being able to hide yourself is something everyone has wanted to do before. Acting 100% yourself without worrying about what other people think because they don't know who you are. Hiding behind a mask or false identity gives you the feeling that you can do anything. You would act completely different from how you usually do. The more wild and instinctive side would come out of you. The feeling of freedom envelopes you as your hiding your face.
This probably seems like fun but I think it could cause more pain than fun. If you didn't care about how you acted then you have an enormous temptation to do evil. If you were usually a goody goody then your dark side would be revealed. People that had once did harm to you would have payback brought on them. The human instinct is to satisfy your own (self centered) desires. That means the need/desire to get revenge on someone would probably be on the top of your list of things to do. Masking yourself would probably show if your truly evil or good.

Masks

Hiding behind a mask can help someone be something they normally wouldn't be. They can help do this because if you are hiding behind a mask you may not be showing your true feelings. So you aren't really being yourself, your being the person that the mask portrays. The use of masks can help support the fact that inherent goodness isn't real because if you hide behind a mask too long, you can begin to turn that way. Therefore, you aren't always good or always bad. The masks can change you and turn you bad if you are wearing a bad, or mean mask.

Mask Post

People hide behind masks, to hide what they truely are. Not literal masks, but like a wall, an invisable wall that goes up between them and actual reality. Normally they are either scared or embarrassed of what they are. And there is always the possibility that they are lazy, and don't FEEL like showing who they are. A mask doesn't show everyone who you really are, so the person that you act like under the mask can overtake your actual personality at some point. In otherwords, you act like something your not for a certain amount of time and eventually you could become that person.

Inherent Goodness.

I don't think use of masks will affect the idea of inherent goodness, because just having a mask doesn't make you a "different" person physically, you are still that person under the mask.
It might make someone feel different, but it's still the same person doing the actions. Besides, having a mask seem like they would be hiding rather than breaking free into the personality trait we "wished" had.
Wearing a mask can make you act like someone your not. You see it everyday in school when someone cusses or says something inappropriate you know they are probably not going to say that in front of their parents or guardian. Some people act totally bad with some people but are wusses with others. Masks allow you to be some one who you would normally not be.
Masks do affect the idea of inherent goodness because you can be born bad but act good even though your not. People can be born good and act good most of the time but some times they can put on a mask that is totally the opposite. That's why you never really know who's good and how's bad.

*Masks*

When somebody has a mask they can really change. I think this helps them change their personalities becuase since their true identidy is being hidden behind the mask, they can do a lot of things, but by having the mask on, they dont actually feel like its them doing the things. Sometimes these masks can bring out the good in people but other times they can bring out the evil in them. So I think that they can be both useful and harmful.

"Masks"

I think that a mask can affect the idea of inherent goodness because if someone bad comes to school and never gets in trouble and gets good grades then goes home and steals and breaks in places then they are hiding who they really are through a mask. I also think that if a person acts bad and bullies someone consistently then at home they are sweet and have to use manners they are hiding behind a mask because at one point when a child's parents are are always strict that child will reach there breaking point and act out repeatedly so that could be the reason that a child consistently bullies other children.

I think that Jack put on a good mask since he was a choir boy and was always nice because so far in our reading at first he was nice and then he started changing slowly but surely and then he starts showing more of his true self and coming out of his good boy mask.

Masks

I think that most people do have a mask that they hide behind on a regular basis. Most people act a certain way around certain people. Some people act mean around people that they do not like and other people they are really nice. I think that the people they are around determines how they act. I think that people hiding behind masks make them inherently good. For example, if people are around their parent they usually act good. But when they are around their friends they could be a completely bad person. Some people have the same personality with everyone but most people do not and use personal masks to cover up their personal flaws.

Masks. (:

To me, masks are made to hide behind. hiding behind a mask is just like hiding from your problems. you try to hide from them so you don't have to deal with them, or be effected by them, but when you don't deal with your own problems or troubles, someone else has to. so deal with your own stuff and stop being afraid to live life. You can still hide behind a mask, without having a mask. you can hide in literal, not just something hiding your face. when you hide behind a mask, you're basically just covering your eyes so you can't see what's there, but you know that it's still there. so there's no reason to hide in the first place, you're still stuck with it. isn't it better to just solve your problems, instead of just letting it sit there and stare you in the face until you do something about it? i think so.

Masks

Everyone, at some point, wears a "mask." Masks can help people to be something they are not. They can help them to be better a something or carefree. Masks help you to feel like you are some one totally different. In a sort of way, they can set you free from yourself. Some masks help you to be good, and some make you crazy, and not care, like Jacks mask made him. The use of a mask does not affect the idea of inherent goodness because no one is born good and stays good. Everyone changes throughout life, sometimes for the worse. A mask does not affect your "goodness." It some ways a mask can help you to be good. It can help you to be civil and disciplined. It might help you to act better and be happier.

Mask Perspective

Wearing a mask effects they way a person reacts upon situations. They feel hidden behind the mask as though they were someone else and always have been. Hiding behing the mask makes people feel almost invisible and they act upon their new identiy They way people act when wearing a mask varies on what kind of mask they're wearing.example a sad mask will make them feel sad, a happy mask happy, and a angry mask angry. The mask affects the idea of inherent goodness because when wearing the mask you feel as though you are someone else seeing through new eyes.

We Are Who We Are

I don't think that a person can be born good or bad. Because people make there on choices in life, I think that you have to make mistakes in life to learn from them or you want grow as a person. "The worst mistake a person can make is being afraid to make one". For example two African American boys grew up in the same neighborhood raised the same. They lived in the ghetto & know one ever thought that they would amount to anything. But one of the boys was a a honor roll student & went to college. I feel that if you put people down because of where they live or how much money they have telling the they aren't going to amount to anything, they start think I just might as well and give up.

Side Choose

Im going to have to go with side 2 because people get influenced to change. Everyone is born good but the way they are raised and the enviroment there rasied. Also by the people who theyare around because they get influenced to those things. Some people want to try things they know they shouldnt do. but it change to good or bad

Good vs. Evil

I think that being "good" or "evil" is something that is learned or developed over time. You might be in a bad situation as a child, but you can still make your life better. On the other hand, you can grow up in a good and caring family, but you can end up "evil." Experiences can also have major impact on people's views on life.

One of my best friends from my old school is a good example. As a child, she was a very kind person, would never hurt a fly. But as she grew older, she had a lot of emotional trauma. She now is one of those students that is either in detention, or suspended. Her parents are still trying to help as best they can.

Oprah grew up in a very bad situation. She bounced around homes, and was abused. But that did not stop her. She has now dedicated her life to help others. Her past did not keep her from doing all the good that she has accomplished.

My final example is J. J. Maloney. He was a convicted murder. While in prison, however, he saw the light and began to educate himself. When released from prison, he became a journalist who was nominated for five Pulitzer Prizes.

are people inherently good

people may be born into a good/evil situation but they are not always going to end up like the situation they were born into

someone could change by a traumatic experience/ if they saw there parents get killed they could turn into a "super hero" (Batman)

someone could change by a lifelong of hurt/ if they were put down all there life they could turn evil

someone could change by seeing someone else hurt/ if they were evil and someone close to them was hurt by there evil then they could change their ways

Inherent

I was recently asked my opinion about people that are born into good families/situations, and could those kids turn out to be bad and do bad things, or vice versa if a kid is born into a bad situation if that kid could turn out to be good and do good things. The way I feel is that if the kid wants to do good things and has the right amount of guidence they can do whatever they want to. They could turn out to be great people and go on to do great things.
There is a total opposite of this. If the kid decides his life and brain isn't important the kid will do terrible and destructful things. There are many great examples of this, where kids do good and bad.
Many rich Hollywood stars are born into mega rich families and have everything but decide to go out and party and get into trouble in many ways.
However many kids born into bad families decide to change their own life like many athletes, and go on and study and practice hard and go to college.
Even one of our presidents was born into a split home and obviously went on to be very smart and be our president.

Are People Inherently Good ?

I believe people are born good , but they do not stay good . Eventually they're going to get tired of being good and they're going to slowly turn evil or bad . Or they will just tired and not turn fully evil , but enough to where they're not the goody-goody person that everyone knows them to be .

One example is a girl that used to be my friend . We were best friends in elementary school and she was good . She wasn't perfect , but she wasn't bad . Then in middle school she changed and she wasn't good . Rumors started spreading and some of them turned out to be true and they weren't the good kind of rumors . Another example is probably me . Everyone , the people that grew up around me , says that I was good when I was little and now they're saying I'm not so good . I guess it's partly true . I wouldn't say I'm evil though . My third example is a friend now . As long as I've known her she's been good . She's mean, but she does everything that adults ask her and she doesn't break all the rules . So I believe everyone is good when they're first born , but when they began to get older they began to change .

Are people inherently good?

Even as a baby, when you're born you don't know what right and wrong is. You have to learn and experience all the things that you go through. People are honestly born into what they know. Everyone has their own idea of good and evil. If you're born into a family that's not exactly stable then sometimes you won't be stable yourself but there are always those true and genuine people that have been through a lot and are good.
As a child the words we would always hear are "Be careful" and "No! Don't do that!" Our parents say those things for not only our safety but to teach us a lesson and we have to learn not to do whatever we did. Being good and being evil are two different things. When you're evil it's because you either had no choice or just wanted to be that way. When you're good you chose to be and are a genuine and kind person.

born bad grew good

I believe people can change over the course of a lifetime.

One example of how people can change is me. When I was young I was evil. I was a stub urn and mean little child. I threw fits all the time and was always mean to adults. Now I am nice though. I respect everybody and rarely get mad.
My dad told me when he was a teenager he was hot headed. He had a bad temper and hated being wrong. He said he would break stuff all the time and was always mad at someone. Now he is calm minded and is rarely mad at anyone. He has fun and jokes and is chill with everything.
One bible story tells of a king who hated Jesus. He didn't believe there was a god at all and was mad that so many people believed in Jesus. It said that he saw Jesus one time and was blinded by his glory. He ended up being one of Jesus's prophets and spread his word everywhere.

Karina's Blog.(:

People are not born inherently good or bad. Who you are and your surroundings are what makes someone either good or bad. As a young kid, everything you see and experience makes who you will be when you grow up.
If you live in a bad neighborhood or in a bad household, more than likely, you will have problems or experience many problems during your life time. This occurs all the time. Most people point them out because you can tell that they don't have a good life. As for others, you don't really see it. You just know or think you know, and they could be some of the nicest people you will ever meet.
One example would be Hitler. He was born to a not so wealthy family, and lived a pretty bad childhood. He was abused and lost his family at a young age. He grew up to be one of the worst people to ever walk on this planet. Because of all the pain he suffered, that caused him to take it out on people. The beginning of the holocaust was there.
Oprah Winfrey is another example. She was born to a poor family and was molested by a family member. She grew up with very bad experiences and is now one of the most generous people in the show business. She gives to people, charities, and does everything she can to help the community out. She is also the richest woman in the United States.

are people born good?

One person that i think is good is Oprah. She has always done good things for the community and other people. She gives money back to people that need it and she has a lot of charities. Oprah got raped and everything and she is still a wonderful person.

Martin Luther King was also somebody that was born as a good person. He did so much for the African American race. Even when the white people dissed him like they did he could have became crazy and hated white people. But he did not he decided he would change the way white people would judge black people. Without him we would not be integrated.

Forrest gump was another person that was inherently good. He was a very good and nice person even though he was a little slow. His mom is the person that taught him everything because without her he would be lost. She was an even better person than Forrest is. Overall he was a good person because he cared for people and gave back to people and stuff like that.

Are people inherently good?

I believe that everyone is born with a bad part inside of them. But no one is born all evil. When I say that I mean evil as in no good, can't do anything right. Everyone has SOME good in them, everyone is capable of doing something nice. Maybe everyone doesn't WANT to do something nice, but everyone can.
In the story the children aren't necessarily evil they are just doing what they need to do to survive. They are left all alone with no adults and they try to do what they can to survive, and some of those things aren't necessarily normal for the average human being.
The list of people could go on and on that actually had normal childhood but turned out to be so miserable or so angry with their lives once they got older that they BECAME evil, they weren't born that way.

Are people inherently good?

I think that people are neither inherently good or inherently evil because there are a ton of people in jail right now that have done really bad things but some of them did the things because they never learned anydifferent. Some people are born into evil situations and when they are older recact to situations in a negative way. For example somebody African American goes and steals something and gets caughts and blames the reason they got caught on the color of their skin.

Another situation would be have a young girl still in high school pergnant and going through with having the baby. The mother could not be a good mother, she could not have wanted the baby in the first place, or it could be a baby concived by sexual assault. For example that baby could have a bad family life and not have any morals or the mother could drop out of high school and not go back to school and not be able to get a good job.

The last situation could be a baby born into a drug addicating or abbussive family. For example a baby that is born into a drug addicating family could have serious illnesses that could cost the parents thousands of dollars or if the baby was born into an abbussive family the baby could have broken bones, brusis or even be beaten so hard that they got a serious illness which would inturn still cost the parents thousands of dollars.
I believe that people maybe born into a bad or good situation but it doesn't mean that they will end up that way. There are people that were born in bad neighborhoods and grew up around gangs and drug abuse and never got involved in it. Instead of taking part of what was going on around them they stayed away and made a better future for their self. So that their family's wouldn't have to go through what they did.
Michael Ore the guy from the movie the Blind Side he grew up in a house where his mom used drugs and she didn't take care of him. He lived in a neighborhood where there were drug dealers and just a bunch of bad stuff going on. He stayed away from that stuff and when he finally ended up with the white family from the movie he bettered himself.
There are people that were poor when they were young and had little money for necessities and now are rich and power full. Lionel Messi the best soccer player in the world was very poor when he was little. His father was a factory worker and his mom was part time cleaner when he was young he was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency. Now he has been named the best soccer player in the world more then once and is playing soccer for one of the best clubs in the world and his caught money.

Are People Inherently Good?

I believe that you are either born into a loving family or not. An example of someone who was born into an unloving was Oprah Winfrey, she was born into poverty, raped at 9, sexually abused by her mom's boyfriend and her uncle and had a baby at fourteen. She had her first show in 1976, it was huge success. Now she has everything in the world, at one point she was the only African American billionare in the world. As you can see she was born into bad and turn her life around into good.

hmmmm. (:

i think that everyone is born good, but people can devolop into something bad or evil. no one is born a specfic way. everyone is born the same way. everyone has a bad side, but they don't start out that way. something has to happen for the bad or evil side to come out. say you get into a fight, theres a bad side, but they don't stay that way all the time. everyone has a good side to. it's called emotions, everyone has them, everyone uses them. no one is born a certain way, in my opinion. for example; Michael Myers, he was born a harmless little boy, but he turned into a cerial killer. same with Jigsaw, and Jack the ripper. they all developed into killers, but i'm sure that they can be sweet and have a good side too. no one is born straight up evil. if they were then they would have never been nice or good a day in there life. everyone is good sometime. everyone is born for a purpose, maybe you are born to cure cancer, or maybe you are born to just to live life like a normal person, but no one is born straight up evil. they have to develop into evilness, or badness.

Are People Born Good?

I think that some people are born good but not always will stay the same in the end. For example I know a person that would help everybody and would be nice and kind to everyone that she met and would give them a hand when ever they needed it. But some people would take advantage of her and would talk about her behind her back and would start rumors while she helped them in all that she could. She was getting tired and started to hold regrets and would not help them any more she became cold hearted and did not help that person anymore even though it killed her inside.
Another example woud be this Judge that comes on TV, her name is Laura. She was kind and sweet to everyone she met but there is somthing that she cant stand people that are disrespectfull so she shows her EVIL side and it doesnt look pretty. She is a nice woman but her Anger is terribl and will takw anybody out of her way if she needs to.
Somthing else that would be an example is somebody being abused or tortured becasue they can be WONDERFUL people but then with all that trauma they can become regretful and full of hate you see some people are born to be good and somtimes stay good but most of the time like i said before people take advantage of there goodness and they become cold hearted.
I don't think that people are born inherently good or bad. I don't think just because you were born in a certain house hold or a certain way that you can't change when you get older. Because you may be good when you were born or born into a good situation but then later on in life you may do bad things. Also if you are born into a bad situation you can always turn good later on in life.
Martian Luther King, Jr. even though he wasn't born into a bad house hold, he didn't live in a good society where people would think that he would be able to become as famous as he was.
Oprah Winfrey was born into a bad home, he parents were neither married nor adults yet. She was also born into a family that didn't have a lot of money and she was also raped at nine years old, but now she is a very successful.
J.K. Rowling was a single mom and she was very poor. But later on she wrote the Harry Potter story's and became very successful.

You aren't always born good

I do not think people are inherently good, or bad. I think some people can be born good and then later in life their enviornment can make them turn bad, or evil. Some people are born into terrible households where hurting and killing is normal, and they grow up to do great things one day.
One example of people changing is Martin Luther King Jr. He was born in a time where people of color were discriminated against and violence was a regular. When he grew up he rose above everything and was a non-violent person. If people were inherently good, or bad, then you would think he would grow up to fight the segregation with a lot of violence. He was able to change and be good.
Another good example is Oprah Winfrey. She was born into a very bad and poor family. She was molested as a child, but now she is a very successful woman. Since she was born into the bad household where she was done wrong to you would expect her to be bad. She is very good, she donates money to charity and is very nice. She even has her own TV network.
My last example is Shania Twain. Growing up her family was very poor, couldn't afford heat, and sometimes food. At the young age of eight she would go into bars and sing just to get an extra $20. This is a very good example because since she had nothing growing up you would imagine her to be bad. She is very successful and even started her own charity for underprivledged kids to get music lessons.

Are People Inherently Good?

Are people inherently good? I do think some people are born good, and some people are born evil. Although they are born this way does not mean they are going to stay that way. Everyone changes during their life. No one is truely inherently good. If you are born good you could grow up to be bad, and some people are born into a bad situation can grow up and do amazing things. All this is based on what you want.
Oprah Winfrey wasn't born into the best house and situation, and she didn't grow up with the best of things. She grew up to be a famous and very successful women. She changed from the little girl she used to be. She wasn't born inherently good. She donates to charity and she has done much better for herself. She was born into a bad situation but completely turned her life around.
Maya Angelou was not born into the best of situations. She was molested as a child and blamed herself for the death of her molester. She didn't have the best of everything. She wasn't the richest kid. Her parents were seperated and her situation wasn't good. She is now a famous author. She set goals for herself and accomplished them. Like Oprah she turned her life around.
Shania Twain was also born into a poor family and a not so good situation. She was forced to sing for money in her early years. She was eight years old and singing for people to try and make ends meet. She didn't have the best life, but now she is a famous country singer. She makes lots of money. She has had many hit songs. All three of the women weren't born into the best life, but each one made something for themselves. People do change, even if you are born inherently good you won't stay the same forever. No one is truely and completely good all the time.

Are People Inherently Good?

I don't think people are born good. To be good or the act of good is not something you're born with. It's something you learn.
For example, a little child or baby their brains are still developing. They don't know the difference between right and wrong. If they misbehave or do something bad, the child will be corrected. If the child continues to be bad he/she will keep being corrected, until they learn that what they did was wrong.
Another example, is that someone in my family did something wrong. Then she got in trouble from it, and she didn't like the consequences that came with it. She then realized that what she did was wrong and never did it again.
My final example, is people and charities/volunteering. Most people involved in charities are good people. They either were raised in a family who gives a lot and the action is eventually learned and carried throughout the family or some time in their life they decide to give back.

Inheretly bad people

1. Hitler- hitler was born into a bad situation. He was born into a household where his father would beat him because he wasn't good enough. His evilness began in the late childhood and early teen years of his life when he would shovel rich peoples houses and rake their yards and the whole time he would think of the owners as jews and that they stole all of the jobs from everything else. He then went into the military where he worked his way up the ranks until he was a NAZI leader andkilled millions of Jews, Gays, Blacks, and Gypsies.
2. Alexis Flores-alleged for his involvement in the kidnapping and murder of a five year old girl in Pennyslvania. The five year old girl was reported missing late in July of the year 2000. The girl was found strangled to death in a nearby apartment a few months after she went missing. Any imformation leading to this case will receive a reward up to 100,000 dollars.
3. Jason Derek Brown- is wanted for murder and armed robbery in Pheonix, Arizona. He shot a car guard outside a movie theatre and ran off with some money. He has been described of being a show-off. He has a master's degree in International Business and speaks fluent french. He was born into a rich family.

Found Poem SB

He passed the rock, climbed the trees trough the fruits.
Flowers booming everywhere, the scent turned unsatisfying.
Simon turned away and went down the same path he had the same morning

Away From Life..

Scared They Found Him

Dropped He Cried

They Found Him

Satisfied They Walk

Watching Him Cry Like

Pale Flowers He

Was There In The

Closed In Dark

Jungle Away

From Life.

Life

The morning air was great.

Acres of trees and endless fruit.

The booming roar of tall trees was everywhere.

Flowers grew among the pasture in the soft soil,

The scent satisfied.

And a million energetic bees led a path toward the flowers.

Life is throughout.

Found Poem

His scar of

The tall trunks

Turned away from

Him where the

High jungle closed in

Then flower and fruit

Paused then satisfied

The bees

Found Poem

He paused and looked round,

the ripe fruit

lugged him toward

the trees.

He pulled off

a million flowers and fruit

and turned away.

The prints in the soil

led him back

to the scar.
