Well the time has come, at last our class has officially finished reading the novel, Lord of the Flies. It was a long experience and I speak for everyone when I say, "Thank goodness we're done." The book was very slow in the beginning and middle of the book. When you got to the last four or five chapters of the book it really began to become exciting and very interesting to read. So my final opinion of inherent goodness of man is that, Some people were born into a warm loving family and others were born into a life no person should ever go through.
The boys in the novel were inherently good but when it came to making decisions that would ultimately save or end their lives, they didn't know what to do and became lost in themselves, and became savages and it seemed the only one to keep his head on was Ralph. Jack became crazy in hunting for meat and the little children agreed with them. So kids are inherently good, but when they get put into a life threatening situation they go crazy. Kids are not to be put in that kind of experience. It's not adequate for their brains to go through that.
Jack and Roger were not destined for evil. They were just children and didn't know what they were doing. They got a blood lust and as a shark does. They went crazy and destroyed almost everything in their path. That includes themselves. They killed Simon and Piggy. So Jack and Roger were not destined for evil. But putting them together made them evil.
Piggy was meant to be good. He was born good and stayed good until his most unfortunate death. He was made fun fun of because of his asthma, weight, and of his wearing of spectacles. Still he stayed optimistic and became good even in the worst of times.
I think that I am Inherently good, even though I was born into a family and raised without my mother and my father having to deal with four boys. I stayed good and helped him by doing chores.
So people are inherently good.
