"The Scarlet Ibis"

Out of all the short stories we've read the one I can relate the most to is "The Scarlet Ibis." I can relate to this story because it's all about sibling rivalry. I have a younger sister and an older brother; we are always going up against eachother. Each one of us always wants to be the best. We are always giving eachother a hard time or playing tricks on one another. My sister and I decided it would be a funny idea to give him a make over in his sleep. He thought other wise. He put shaving cream all over us one night while we were sleeping. Much like "The Scarlet Ibis" when Brother tries and plays tricks on Doodle to get attention.

    I like the connection you used of how you and your sister played tricks on your brother. It has been the same way with me and my siblings! I think this relates to the story a lot.

    I love the fact that you talked about sibbling rivalry. The rivalry is very intense and rough.

    I think that you had a good connection to the story because Brother was always trying to trick Doodle. I can't relate to this story because I dont have any siblings.
